Michael Pinckney MD

Dr. Michael Pinckney is a native of Queens, NY. He graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 1995. After college, he attended medical school at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. He stayed at Emory for another four years to complete his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, where he served as Chief Resident and the South/Central Regional Representative for the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. During this time he also served as Regional Editor for the Harvard School of Medicine publication, Rehab in Review.
Throughout medical school and residency, he also ran a successful personal fitness training business which received numerous accolades.
In 2005, he moved to the Bay area to complete a one-year fellowship training program in interventional pain management at Pain and Rehabilitative Consultants Medical Group in Berkeley, CA. After completion of his fellowship training, he fell in love with the city of San Francisco and decided to pursue private practice in the Bay area. His areas of focus include pain management, musculoskeletal and functional medicine, electrodiagnosis, sports medicine, and longevity medicine.
He maintains several professional affiliations including memberships in the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American College of Sports Medicine, the Physiatric Association of Spine, Sports and Occupational Rehabilitation, the American Academy of Ant-Aging Medicine, and the International Sports Sciences Association. He is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
