What do I need to go to uni uk?
IM 22, and was a little under Achiever at the school. This was primarily due to the death of my mother a few months before my GCSE's. I was finished with only 3 AC's though I wwass predicted 10th I still have my 6: e form through an appeal, and some understanding teachers who understood my potential. However, still devastated over the loss of my mother, I felt I did not want to live in full time education longer, and left to travel within the establishment. Now, of course, I'm beginning to regret this choice, which I find myself in a low-paid jobs without real prospects. As a reasonably intelligent person, I find it hard to handle, and after seeing most of my friends enjoying uni life, I would also like to see it before im too old! My question is Where do I start? I understand that I can not just go to uni with no real qualities, but im looking for a fast track option or other advice on how I can go to uni asap! thanks for reading
Most universities offer basic courses - it is a course on the topic you wish to study at degree level, which gives you a leg up in this subject at degree level. You are never too old to go to uni, so do not let it scare you off - there are a pensioner in my history course at uni and a whole some other people like you who wanted to return to education to better their prospects in employment. You can call the uni you want to go to see if there is a basic course in the topic you want. Also explain your situation and on the sad loss of your mother at such a young age. They will be very understanding. They can also advise you on what best to do to win a place on the course at the uni. Good luck!
