What's pulse and blood pressure guidelines for normality?
I recently had a bp of 220/119 with a pulse on 136th It is thought of, but not do anything much. I'm waiting for a Dr. APPT with my GP.
What is your b / p normal? Did you ever find out why your high b / p? What did they Are doing for your b / p? Have an ER doctor give you any kind of prescription? Does your family have a history of hypertension? Have you ever had an abnormally high b / p? There are different types of risk factors that cause an increase in B / P, such as stress, weight, diet, kidney problems, and the list could go on and on, but there is not much information, provided that are difficult to assess. Keep out everyone's body is different, including what some people believe that 'standard' b / s. The 120/80 is a just one average B / P reading, does not mean its normal for you. But the concern with increasing b / s is it puts you @ risk of stroke, heart attack, kidney problems, because high blood pressure puts pressure on all of your vital organs (heart, liver, brain, and especially the kidneys) and causing damage to them. I will give you a example of how B / P works through b / p you had in the ER who was 220/119. The 220 represents systolic blood pressure, and the bottom row represents diastolic pressure. Systolic blood pressure of 220 is the amount of force (pressure), you are pushing against your arteries and your organs (heart, kidneys, etc.). Diastolic pressure 119 tells the least amount of pressure that was on your arteries when your heart was relaxing. Think of this as a pump when you squeeze something, then let go release pressure, and then press again. Basically there was not much time for your heart to relax between pump blood, because of the abnormally high b / s. This may explain why your heart rate was accelerated, but there may be other factors that could cause that to occur. I suppose that is at least got it under control before you were released and sent home again. I would hope so. B / P is considered high when b / p when 140/90, you are considered hypertensive (high), and somewhat lower 90/60 is considered hypotensive (low). So if you are looking for something in the 'standard' among all these series will be considered, but remember everyone is different and you should ask your doctor what is right for you.
