Powerline networking - how good is this system?

I have a well-established Wi-Fi network in my home - rock solid, but an upstairs bedroom is getting a weak signal. I want to make a second Wi-Fi access point up there, but I can not run CAT5 from the downstairs router / modem. I already have the other Wi-Fi router configured as an access point, and I tried it while it was connected directly to the first Wi-Fi router (I have actually two Wi-Fi network now). If I buy the Powerline adapters and connect the transmitter adapter to the first router and put the receiver adapter in the bedroom upstairs store, can I set the second router to the receiver adapter and get Wi-Fi?
