SolidWorks Student Edition? What features make it undesirable for commercial use?
I plan to purchase SolidWorks Student Edition, but I am curious ... SolidWorks website says that "Although functionally identical to the SolidWorks software used by professionals in the workplace, the student edition contains features that make it unsuitable for commercial use. "Could someone let me know what these" functions "are?
I am taking a guess here ..... I have worked with the commercial version of "SolidWorks" in many years. general installation of the commercial versions of the past (as in early 2000), required higher than average computer system requirments ........ things not found in the average home PC (or the type of equipment found in most "students" computers). The company I worked for had the program installed ina computer the size of a small room .... and allowed more people to work at the same Drawing on a time ..... this kind of power is very important for the company .... but not necessary, just to "teach" someone how to use SolidWorks. "But many high-end computers (like mine has Intel quad core processor, 8 gigabytes of RAM and a 8800 Ultra graphics card ).... opportunity FAST calculations of graphics, pictures ...... there is essentil for profitability in the commercial world ....... but not so necessary in the student version .... So my guess is the version that just works (but much slower) on lower system requirments.
